چکیده

After the discovery of a unique pentasaccharide domain in heparin that is responsible for activation of antithrombin 111, many analogues have been synthesised which stimulate the inhibition of factor Xa. Some aspects of the synthesis of heparin like pentasaccharides are presented. Furthermore, pentasaccharide conjugates could be designed and synthesised which stimulate the antithrombin I11 mediated inhibition of both factor Xa and thrombin. INTRODUCTION Heparin (l), is an anticoagulant drug composed of a mixture of glycosaminoglycans (GAGS) purified from biological sources such as intestinal mucosa. The antithrombotic action of heparin mainly results from interactions with the protease inhibitor antithrombin I11 (AT-III), the heparidAT-I11 complex inactivates the blood coagulation factors Xa and thrombin.

Hemorrhagic events in patients receiving heparin or enoxaparin in combination with Oral antithrombotics, NSAIDs, and antiplatelet medications: A multi-center case-series study

Background: Hemorrhagic events are amongst the major adverse effects of injectable anticoagulants such as heparin and enoxaparin. This necessitates close monitoring of their use for clinically relevant drug-drug interactions. Aim: To study the rate of hemorrhagic events, the anatomical site, and the severity of the hemorrhage in patients receiving heparin or enoxaparin in combination with clop...

Management of Antithrombotic Therapy for Gastroenterological Endoscopy from a Cardio-Cerebrovascular Physician's Point of View

Periprocedural management of antithrombotics for gastroenterological endoscopy is a common clinical issue. To decide how to manage the use of antithrombotics in patients undergoing endoscopy, the risk for hemorrhage and thromboembolism during the procedure must be considered. For low-risk procedures, no adjustments in antithrombotics are needed. For high-risk procedures with a low thromboemboli...

Gastrointestinal endoscopy in patients on anticoagulant therapy and antiplatelet agents

Periprocedural management of antithrombotics for gastrointestinal endoscopy is a common clinical issue, given the widespread use of these drugs for primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention. For diagnostic procedures, with or without biopsy, no adjustments in antithrombotics are usually needed. For operative procedures, balancing the risk of periprocedural hemorrhage with the continuation...
